Bookstores
This utterly charming book store and café features simple décor: rustic tables and chairs, pretty tablecloths and candles. And, of course, books. Lots of them. All kinds of books.
It is a friendly meeting point for arty types - students, bohemians and other young creative minds, who come together to recite poetry, improvise verses, sing songs and play music on Thursdays and Fridays. If there is an event occurring, you may be asked to pay a small entrance fee, typically of $2-5.
Sometimes, artistic presentations are made. Also, special guest musicians frequently show up and wow the audiences with jazz, blues, traditional Andean music and other genres. This is a great place to meet likeminded people, to socialise creatively and to show some respect to culture. There is also regular book exchange which is very popular.
Let's not forget the food - this is after all a café! The menu is quite extensive for this kind of establishment; featuring burgers, salads, pasta, sandwiches - even steaks! You can sample local delicacies, or choose from a variety of other cuisines, such as Mexican. The list of beverages on offer is even more extensive, covering coffee, aromatic tea, mulled wines and juices. For the evening, choose from a huge selection of fine spirits, wines and cocktails, with everything reasonably priced.
