Patria Restaurante
Ecuador
Typical Ecuadorian
As soon as you enter Patria restaurant, you are cheered up by the color and light of the place. The restaurant is exquisitely decorated in its simplicity and every detail taken care of. Colorful flower bouquets are everywhere and greenness invades every space, coming in through the large windows from the gardens and from Cumbayá park across the street. Waiters impeccably uniformed serve the tables in a friendly and diligent manner. No wonder, the bright atmosphere cheers up everyone.
Patrons can sit at high tables near cooking stations, in the main salon with views on Cumbayá park, in the more intimate one with garden views, or on the terrace, or have a coffee in the garden. Ample spaces give enough room for waiters to move around and for patrons to sit and talk comfortably.
'Patria' is the Spanish word for Homeland and this is what the restaurant's owners said about Patria's cuisine: 'We have tried to rescue the dishes and ingredients from the different regions of our Homeland, giving them a modern turn, incorporating current cooking techniques, and, above all, using only first quality ingredients...'. And this has been perfectly achieved by Chef Enrique Sempere.
The menu shows a large variety of dishes, each one a special mix of the traditional Ecuadorian food and ingredients, with the new or international. How about a 'Crispy Rice Empanada Filled with Amaranth, Shredded Pork and Dried Tomatoes'? Every dish is a new delicious tasting experience while keeping flavors from the old. There are appetizers and mixed hors-d'oeuvres to share; salads and soups; main dishes of different kinds of meat, seafood and poultry with varied sides; desserts; several kinds of coffee, hot chocolate and infusions; and, of course, a large selection of wines, liqueurs and cocktails; and there's even a children's menu.
There's parking space on the street outside, a parking lot one block away and they also have valet parking service.
