La Choza Restaurante
Ecuador
Typical Ecuadorian
This fabulous restaurant is about as authentic as they come. It was opened in Quito almost half a century ago by a family with long-established roots in the city, and that same family - now in its third generation - run the place today, using recipes that have been lovingly passed down from generation to generation.
The cuisine is, unsurprisingly, traditional Ecuadorian, offering a great cultural opportunity to sample some of the gastronomic heritage of the country. The dishes are delicious and the service attentive and friendly; you'll feel like you're dining amongst friends. The menu brings together some of the very best traditional meals from around the whole country, though it should be noted there are also international dishes for those tourists who just want a taste of home.
The décor is an impressive as the food, with the walls adorned with indigenous art, adding to the authenticity of the entire experience. The main dining room has a capacity for 150, making it a perfect choice for parties and other important events. There is also a private, more intimate dining room, with a capacity for 24.
