Typical Ecuadorian
One of the more interesting dining options in the Central Andes, this restaurant is a truly unique establishment serving traditional Ecuadorian cuisine. As you might expect from the name, the restaurant largely features fragrant cedar wood, appearing almost as a log cabin from the front, and with a large cedar tree actually growing through the centre of the restaurant! Not only does this surprising feature make for a delightful setting, it's also a great photo opportunity.
Cedro, with an atmosphere of warm ambience, is largely open-plan, with a charming staircase wrapping itself around the central tree. Diners are treated to an elegant, sun-filled room upstairs, or a more secluded experience on the ground floor.
The food served at Cedro is up there with the very best of its kind in the area, and the menu is extensive, and most importantly varied. While focused primarily on the local influence of authentic Ecuador tastes, the restaurant also serves international dishes, all perfectly presented and truly delicious. Favourites include potato locro, filet mignon, churrasco and garlic shrimp.
