Pass By: Basilica del Voto Nacional The Basilica del Voto Nacional is a Gothic church in Quito, rich in history and legends. You will have the opportunity to explore the courtyard, take stunning photos, and even sketch the church if you wish. The unique architecture is truly impressive. Stop At: Plaza de la Independencia After visiting the Basilica, you will enter the Historic Center, and walk to Plaza de la Independencia (Plaza Grande). Before reaching the plaza, you can stop at a vintage coffee roaster for some Ecuadorian ground coffee. You will have time to explore the plaza and its surroundings, including the Cathedral, Arch Bishop’s Palace, Chocolate Museum, Presidential Palace, Metropolitan Museum, and more. This visit allows you to experience the historic essence of Quito. Duration: 1 hour Stop At: Teatro Bolivar Following your exploration of Plaza Grande and other iconic sites in Old Town Quito, you will walk down a pedestrian-only street, admiring the beautiful colonial architecture. Your destination is the renowned Teatro Bolivar, which has been reconstructed after a fire in 1999. Here, you can relax at a coffee shop and enjoy a premium cup of Ecuadorian coffee. Duration: 30 minutes Stop At: Fundacion Iglesia de la Compania Next, you will visit the majestic La Compañia Church, a Jesuit church known for its large central nave adorned with gold leaf, gilded plaster, and wood carvings. Inspired by Roman Jesuit churches, it is one of the most significant examples of Spanish Baroque architecture in South America. You will take a 30-minute guided tour of this ornate church. Duration: 1 hour Stop At: Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco After La Compañia, you will head to the San Francisco Church Plaza. Here, you can take photos, visit the church and seasonal attractions at the convent, and enjoy views of the Virgen Monument atop Panecillo hill. You will also learn about the legend of the church's construction. You will then walk back to the car/van to head to the Teleferico. Duration: 20 minutes Stop At: TelefériQo Cable Car You will arrive at the TeleferiQo around noon and take a cable car up to Cruz Loma. This unforgettable experience features one of the longest and highest cable cars in the world, rising from 3,117 m (10,226 ft) to 3,945 m (12,943 ft). The ascent takes about 20 minutes, offering breathtaking views of the city below. At the top, you can take beautiful photos with Quito in the background and trek to a new swing overlooking the city. Duration: 1 hour Stop At: Intinan Equator Museum After lunch, you will head north to the Equator, starting with the Inti Ñan museum. This traditional site offers fascinating experiments at zero latitude. Duration: 45 minutes Pass By: Mitad Del Mundo Finally, you will visit Mitad del Mundo City or Equator Park, the most visited tourist site in Ecuador. If time permits, you will explore this iconic location.
